Teaching LACMA's Through Your Lens afterschool filmmaking class, I guide the students through the entire filmmaking process starting with screenwriting and ending with editing.
At Urban Arts, I work with teachers and students to make films inspired by academic content.
In classes At ArtworxLA and the Skirball Center, students share their stories and perspectives while learning leadership, professional filmmaking protocol, clear communication, collaboration, and the cinematic language.
Whether I am teaching community filmmaking workshops for the LACMA9 Art+Film Lab, professional development workshops for teachers, playwriting classes for incarcerated women or movement workshops for senior citizens; grown ups deserve the chance to be creative. Check out my blog for KCET on the LACMA9 Art + Film Lab.
"Every child is an artist.
The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
I have fifteen years of teaching experience, working with organizations such as DreamYard, ArtworxLA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Urban Arts, The Skirball Cultural Center, Hospital Audiences, and the Public Theater.
